We'll be honest with you: we don't have a dachshund of our own. Our homes are a little too small, our hours a little too long. But oh, do we love them.

We love the way a dachshund folds into a sunbeam like they invented warmth. The way they greet you at the door as though you've returned from war, every single time, even if you only went to get the mail. We love that they are built all wrong and somehow exactly right — that a dog this long, this stubborn, this certain they're a lapdog, can hold so much of a family's heart.

That's really why Wienerwork exists. Not to sell you a thing for your wall, but to hand back something you already feel — the particular, ridiculous, bottomless love between a person and their dog — made into a portrait worth living with.

So we sweat the details that matter. The exact russet of their coat. The set of those impossible ears. The little crook in the tail that's theirs and no one else's. Because it shouldn't just be a dachshund on your wall. It should be yours — the one who's snoring beside you right now, or the one who left paw prints on your heart and your hardwood and is gone too soon.

You'll see the portrait before you ever pay a cent. If it isn't unmistakably them, you walk away, no harm done. And if a piece ever reaches you less than perfect, we'll make it right — because what we're really in the business of is that quiet catch in your throat when you see someone you love, framed and looking back at you.
